FamilyTherapy
Emotionally Focused Family Therapy (EFFT) aims to help individuals grow and improve relationships between different generations in the family.
It builds on the ideas of Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy to improve the connections within a family with the main goal of creating a sense of security, where people feel safe and close to each other, respond to each other's needs, and have strong emotional bonds.
EFFT focuses on fixing negative ways we’ve learned to interact with each other, changing how parents and children communicate, and making the family feel more secure by creating new ways of connecting.
What if my family doesn’t want to go to therapy?
That’s okay too! I am trained to work with whoever shows up. It's absolutely okay if not everyone in the family is ready for therapy, and positive change can still happen.
Just like a garden thrives with attention to individual plants, family dynamics can improve when even one member takes the step towards therapy. The ripple effect of positive change can gradually spread, influencing others in the family.
Remember, everyone has their own pace, and small shifts in one area can create a big impact over time. Embracing the journey of personal growth and positive change is a valuable step forward, and it's never too late for other family members to join in when they feel ready.
The important thing is that progress is possible, and by taking these steps, you're contributing to a healthier and happier family environment
